My Experience
I am a licensed clinical professional counselor with over 15 years of experience in the mental health field. I received my masters in professional counseling from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology and a bachelor's of science from the University of Illinois at Chicago. In my role as therapist I have enjoyed working in a variety of settings such as: schools, community mental health agencies and private practice. I have also worked as a mental health consultant for federally funded programs. I have experience working with immigrant and refugee populations as well as with people of all ages and in various stages of life. It is an honor and privilege to have the opportunity to work with people seeking to make positive changes in their lives. I am excited and look forward to working with those ready to do the work!

My Philosophy
I believe that the therapeutic relationship is important. It is a crucial building block for achieving the most positive outcomes in treatment. In order for therapy to work, you have to feel comfortable with the therapist you choose. The relationship between client and therapist is a unique one, one in which you get to experience loving professional boundaries, honesty, compassion, inspiration and guidance. When enough trust has been established, it is one in which you can safely explore the most difficult subjects without fear of shame or judgement. Therapy also works best when you are ready to do the work. If you are ready to take the deep dive into the things that you want to change, heal and work through, I am ready to work with you.
How I Can Help
My approach to treatment is a collaborative and compassionate one. We will work together to address any issues that you want to work on. I will meet you wherever you are on your journey, whether it be experiencing therapy for the first time or having years of experience in therapy. I bring my professional clinical expertise along with a compassionate heart to each session. Our work will be done in a safe, non judgmental, peaceful environment. Being bilingual and bi-cultural, I incorporate a multicultural perspective and can conduct sessions in English or Spanish.
